Entries & Deadlines

• Date: January 26, 2025
• Player Limit: 16 (Apply to enter)
• Registration Fee: $30 (Must be prepaid by January 24th)
• 100% Cash Payout
• Arrival Deadline: Must be present by 12:35 PM or your spot will be forfeited.
• Waitlist: Waitlisted players must also be present by 12:35 PM to fill no-show spots. No guarantees of entry.

General Rules & Gameplay

• Equipment: Boards, pieces, and clocks will be provided.
• Notation: Not required.
• Game Rules: Standard chess rules apply.
• Clock Settings: 
  • Placement & Knockout Games: 10 minutes (no increment).
• Scoring for Placement Games: 
  • Win = 1 point | Tie = 0.5 point | Loss = 0 points
• Seeding: Determined by placement game points. 
  • Tiebreaker: Random draw for seeding order (e.g., tied players with 5 points).
• Knockout Round: 
  • Touch Move Rule applies.
  • A winner must advance: 
    • Tiebreaker: 1-minute game with 2-second increment.
    • If tied again, Black advances.
  • Higher seed chooses color.
• Fair Play: 
  • No distractions, interference, or misconduct tolerated. Violators risk disqualification and removal without refund.
• Electronics: Phones and other electronic devices are not allowed. Please leave them in your car.
• Disputes: Must be brought to the Tournament Director immediately. Notation will be required for disputes involving moves or positions.

Winner Payouts
(Based on 16 entries; adjusted for final player count)

• 1st Place: $240
• 2nd Place: $130
• 3rd Place: $50
• 4th Place: $30
